About us

How it all began.

The idea of "Colors4Cure" started as just a thought. I was 14 when I decided to make this thought a reality. My mom has always encouraged my sisters and I to help the community as we were growing up; along with my art teacher who knew I eventually wanted to go into fashion, so she believed that it was a good time to start my growth. Combining the two ideas, "Colors4Cure" came farther than I ever thought it would!

Each pair of shorts are sold from $20 to $25 (depending on the customization of each pair). From each pair sold half of the money goes towards funding the supplies needed to make the shorts. The other half of the money goes toward cancer and other disease research. The group helping with this project will personally bring the money to the cancer centers to see who we are helping, and make sure the money is given over the the right hands.

Each pair of shorts are obtained first as donated pants. Donations are greatly welcome whether they were outgrown or no longer wanted, everything is reusable! Once disinfected they are cut down to shorts (length depends on specifics of order). If jeans are blue and wanted to be a different color, the next step would be to bleach the shorts- although some people prefer the look of half natural blue with bleach dip dye which would also be created at this point in the process. From this point forward it all depends on the style. Colored dye can be contrasting two different colors, or one ombre color. The final touch would be to add studs, rips or other designs (optional).

Support needed.

Even though the majority of the pants are created from customers bringing their own jeans, donations are greatly needed! We could use all the support we can get so please spread the word so we can get this organization as far as it can go! Thank you!
